The absence of logic and common sense.

..... In view of the bizarre if not chaotic election year rhetoric, one must ask the question if any sanity prevails in Washington and in Congress these days........ I think not..........With fuel costs rising and threatening to go higher higher and higher, this writer has not once heard about the common sense solution to lowering the demand on gas.............. Besides the fact that we have done it to ourselves, by being spoiled and not applying commons sense to supply and demand........ it should become clear by now that we are the only civilized country in the world that lacks a reliable well oiled rail transportation system that connects not only major cities but rural America as well ..... as do the European rail systems. Only with an alternative means of transportation available to the American public can the pressure of gas consumption be relieved.......

The airlines have become the greyhound transport in the air and have deteriorated to less than economy traveling inconveniences..... more on the level of greyhound ground travel if you can stand sitting next to a pot smoker or cocaine sniffer...... And, ..Don't travel by air. ....you can't even get a glass of water........pack your lunch ....shut and pay more.

Meanwhile back in good ole Washington,...... in state capitals and not to forget Congress, total idiocy prevails. With the costs of gas climbing steadily, highway construction continues.....while less costly rail repairs are neglected or simply ignored.

What is this with our candidates and congress? Are they so ignorant to reality, uneducated or just plain ole stupid not to see the tremendous potential in a time of crisis .......to launch the one thing that could "ease" the demand on oil and provide a new blossoming economy and prosperity by expanding the rail system with all the bells and whistles the European rail systems offer............
